Our story
Midlands Sexual Assault Support Services Charitable Trust began in 2019, following the dissolution of the collective-run Rape and Sexual Abuse Healing Centre Inc which operated since the early 1980s.
We operate as a charitable trust with a governance board. Our registration number with Charities Services is CC56951.

Our Board
The MSASS board is made up of experienced and knowledgeable trustees from a broad range of backgrounds. Our trustees are committed to ensuring MSASS is able to provide services to those who need it.
Our Team
The MSASS clinical team is made up of counsellors and social workers. The team is experienced in providing trauma-informed support to survivors of sexual harm. Our staff are highly qualified and belong to the appropriate registration boards such as the New Zealand Association of Counsellors / Te Roopu Kaiwhiriwhiri o Aotearoa (NZAC), and the Social Workers Registration Board / Kāhui Whakamana Tauwhiro.
Our ACC Providers
The MSASS ACC Provider team is made up of counsellors and social workers. The team is experienced in providing trauma-informed support to survivors of sexual harm. Our providers are highly qualified and belong to the appropriate registration boards such as the New Zealand Association of Counsellors / Te Roopu Kaiwhiriwhiri o Aotearoa (NZAC), and the Social Workers Registration Board / Kāhui Whakamana Tauwhiro.
